Is the embed free?

Yes, with the Powered by Voxoira link kept visible.

Does it store visitor speech?

No. Recognition uses the visitor's browser and nothing is sent to Voxoira.

Why does the microphone not start?

Your page must be served over HTTPS and the iframe needs the allow="microphone" attribute.
