Speaker labels (optional). Rename speakers, then choose a speaker on the line where they start talking. Following lines change with it until you pick another speaker.
Transcribing WAV files
WAV is usually uncompressed, so files are large, around 10 MB per minute for CD-quality stereo. That means better fidelity but more memory use, so very long WAV files can strain phones and older laptops. If a long file fails, convert it to MP3 or split it into parts.
The speech model works on 16 kHz audio, so you gain little from very high sample rates. Studio recordings and call recordings both work well when the speech is clear.
Questions
Why is my WAV file so large?
WAV stores audio uncompressed, so it takes much more space than MP3. The size does not affect transcription quality much for speech.
Can long WAV files fail?
They can on devices with little memory, because the file is decoded in your browser. Splitting or converting to MP3 helps.
